Imagine my surprise when I stumbled, quite literally into a book fair while I was visiting a coffee shop in Summerville, SC. Local authors. Tents and displays. We could walk right up and talk to them about their books. It was all of my favorite things rolled into one great morning while I was on vacation.
I met Jewel Sweeney at this event. She was sweet, charming, full of love for her latest releases. I loved her…and loved Azalea Cafe from her lineup.
The main character, Liz, is fiery and funny. She owns a quaint restaurant in Summerville called the Azalea Cafe. The story line follows her as she works through her grief of losing her fiancé suddenly. Jewel handles this with ease as the story unfolds.
Liz has plenty of complexity, (as do her family and friends that make an appearance throughout the storyline.) She is definitely someone I was cheering for as I read. I also would love to sample her barbecue sauce!
This was a nice easy read but with enough depth that it kept my interest. Perfect for my quiet summer of floating in my pool. Romantic and flirty undertones but absolutely safe to read in the coffee shop.
If this is your sort of genre, I would recommend it highly.
The book is linked up with Amazon in this post. I do not get any commissions for this review or the links. I am simply sharing my thoughts on the book and the author.
Adding to my TBR list!
