One of the Great Mysteries
"Mystery creates wonder and wonder is the basis of man's desire to understand."
Dear Elloise,
I am currently stretched out on the living room floor, reading through glorious Substacks. It’s one of my favorite things to do when my monkey mind won’t let me get sucked into a book. Reading and supporting other writers sharing the things they are passionate about.
I am finding it difficult to write about any specific subject lately. My soul wants to contribute somehow to making this crazy world a better place. While the majority of my life, I studied holistic nutrition, fitness, body mechanics and energy…..I am finding that those subjects just might not be enough to improve this world.
What will be enough?
I practice a life of kindness. I am compassionate as a human….but are those things enough Elloise? I have zero aspirations for the mess that makes up our political world. I have raised my children to be thinkers. To be doers. Kind. Loving. Humans. Now my kids are adults, passing along our family values to their own. Is that enough?
How will we know what is enough?
According to many of the Substacks here, there are solutions and answers to just about anything your brain can consider but…still I wonder what would be enough for me to know that I am contributing to making our world better?
Elloise, I am afraid this is one of those deep, hypothetical questions that has no real answer.
And so, I shall continue to write letters to you, my fictitious friend…and all who wander by to read the ramblings.
Love,
S
